November 2025 Artist Opportunities: Grants, Fellowships & Residencies for a Season of Gratitude & Giving

This month’s opportunities celebrate both the artist’s journey and the organizations that make creative work possible. From research fellowships that honor the past to public art grants shaping more just futures, these programs reflect a spirit of gratitude for artists and the vital roles they play in our communities.

🎓 Fellowships & Research

1. Folger Shakespeare Library – Artistic Research Fellowships (Washington, DC – Research-Based Art)


Artists exploring early modern world histories, concepts, and objects may apply for 1-3 month fellowships. Includes $4,000 per virtual month or $5,000 per onsite month to support primary research.

2. Morgan-Menil Fellowship (NYC/Houston – Drawing Research)

Supports independent research on drawing throughout art history with a monthly stipend of $4,000–$5,100, plus travel allowance between New York and Houston.

3. Folger Shakespeare Library - Long-term Public Humanities Fellowships (Washington, DC – Early Modern Research)

$70,000 for 9 months of full-time research and public humanities projects focused on the early modern world (1400-1800). Open to scholars, artists, writers, and community leaders.

🎨 Residencies & Grants

4. Yaddo Artist Residency (Saratoga Springs, NY – Multidisciplinary)

Fully-funded residencies from two weeks to two months for writers, visual artists, musicians, and filmmakers. Includes room, board, and studio space.

5. Bobby Anspach Studios Foundation – 2025 Artist Grant Program (National – Visual Arts)

Unrestricted grants supporting art that deepens empathy, human connection, and climate awareness. Two $50,000 and three $8,000 awards available.

6. Wave Farm – Media Arts Assistance Fund (New York State – Sound/Moving Image)

Grants up to $7,500 for completion or presentation of sound, moving image, and emergent technology artworks.

Grants of $15,000–$30,000 for Massachusetts-based artists and organizations creating public art that explores spatial justice.

Prioritizing BIPOC and underserved artists, this program offers $15/hour studio rentals in Lower Manhattan.
